Mozzarella cheese sticks recipe step by step


The mozzarella cheese sticks , also known as fingers , are delicious and warm appetizers, perfect for a birthday or any occasion. They are done quickly and easily, and both children and adults love them. The term fingers is Anglo-Saxon like the nuggets . Both are referred to in elongated or square portions that are coated and fried. Generally, they are sold frozen or precooked, ready to bake or fry. The fingers can be fish, chicken or cheese as it is in this case.

Ingredients

  • 250g of mozzarella
  • 150g of flour 0000
  • 60ml of milk
  • 150g of bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • A pinch of ground black pepper
  • A pinch of basil
  • Olive oil

Elaboration step by step

1. Put milk, eggs, pepper and basil in a bowl.
2. In another bowl place the flour and in another the bread crumbs.
3. Cut the mozzarella into pieces and dip the mozzarella cheese into the mixture of milk and eggs. Drain and roll with flour and then go through the bread crumbs.
4. Place the olive oil in the pan and when it is hot, fry the battered cheese sticks until they are well browned.
5. Prepare a saucer with paper napkins and let the mozzarella cheese fingers rest so that the excess oil is released.
6. Serve the cheese sticks with ketchup sauce .
